Important tips, facts & myths

The 7 types of plastic:

The chasing arrow symbol that we see on plastic packaging doesn't mean that it is recyclable. The little number inside the symbol indicates the type of plastic, this is how we can identify if it is recyclable or not.

Benefits of recycling metals:

With every ton of recycled aluminum you save:

6 tones of petrol

4 tones of bauxite

6 tones emission

It takes up to 95% less energy to recycle aluminum than it is to produce it from primary materials.

6Rs - plastic & metal:

  • Refuse - Do not use disposable plastic straws, cutlery, glasses, plates.

  • Reduce - Do not use a disposable razor, choose one with only a replaceable blade.

  • Reuse - Reuse plastic bags available in the market, for example, to pack sandwiches, or use them as garbage bags. If we don’t find something useful, donate it.

  • Repurpose - We can make a bird feeder, watering can, flower holder, pencil holder and gift box from our plastic bottles and pots.

  • Recycle - Aluminium is an infinitely recyclable material. Today, about 75 percent of all aluminum produced in history, nearly a billion tons, is still in use.

  • Rot - Some plastic products are made from compostable PLA, theese should be composted instead of being recycled.
